1.Setting up the connections #
The Xerotech Software Update Kit is needed to update the software in the battery pack’s battery disconnect unit (BDU). Connect the kit as shown in the image below:

2. Setting up the USB serial connection port in laptop #
Start -> Run -> Device Manager Search -> Device Manager (Control Panel) Right click on USB Serial Port (COM3*) and click “Properties”
* The COM number can be different on your device. If multiple USB Serial Ports are shown in your device, find the correct COM port by unplugging and plugging back the USB pin.

3. Setting up HyperTerminal for update application #
Download and install HyperTerminal: https://www.hilgraeve.com/hyperterminal/
Open HyperTerminal: Create a New connection and Connect using COM port which is shown in Device Manager of USB Serial port and port setting (Example: COM3)

4. Update and retrieve the software in battery pack #
Please press Key “x” to enter Boot Options.

If it is empty, please recycle the power to BMS and check it’s still empty without disconnection of HyperTerminal – COM port (Ex: COM3).
This allows the user to enter Xerotech Boot Options.

4.1 Update the battery pack software #
Press Key “1” on your device.

Select Transfer -> Send File…

Please select Protocol option as Y modem. Select the bin file provided by Xerotech (if any).

It should automatically jump to Application after download.

4.2 Retrieve the software image from battery pack #
Press Key “2” on your device.

Select Transfer -> Receive File…
Please select protocol option as Y modem to Transfer and Receive files.

It will once again show the Xerotech Boot Options.
