When first delivered to a new project, Hibernium® battery systems come with commissioning software. This software version has all the functionality of the production one, except the ability to close high-voltage contactors. Commissioning software is used to test system integration, sequences, and communication between the battery management system (BMS) and vehicle control unit (VCU) in a safe environment, preventing damage to the battery or equipment.
Once the commissioning steps are completed successfully, Xerotech’s support team will release Production software image for flashing (refer to the software flashing instruction).
Subsequent deliveries of the same battery type to a previously commissioned project will have Production software flashed by default.
Commissioning steps #
1. Install and power-up battery packs. #
Commissioning can happen only after the battery packs are installed and BMS is powered up.
Refer to the Quick Start Guide for help.
2. Start logging BMS controller area network (CAN) communication #
The log of the commissioning steps is required to complete the process. Use ASC file format if possible.
3. Perform below listed procedures #
- Wake-up
- Power-up
- Charge
- Power-down
- Sleep
Refer to the Communication guide for detailed instructions.
4. Save and send log data to [email protected] #
Forward the saved log file to [email protected]. Our support team will then check the log. If the communication protocols and sequencing are correct, you will receive production software for flashing.
5. Flash production software #
Flash production software is received by our support team after log review.
